Welcome, James! I have to admit, I've not yet read any of your books (blasphemous, I know...don't hate me), but have friends who love them! I love that you are branching out to a more intimate platform to share your stories. That's awesome. Finishing up Sarah Maas's A Court of Silver Flames and starting Sue Monk Kidd's The Book of Longings.
I have a huge stack of books I’m reading through (I always have a good list of books I am reading at any given time). Right now I’m looking forward to getting Bob Woodward’s new book ‘War’. It’s on its way now—so I guess ‘right now’ I’m reading Amazon tracking emails which say—“War is out for delivery”. 🤣 hilarious!
I got completely distracted when you said your Fax machine was about to go off. Not only do you still have a fax machine but you know someone who also has a fax machine who sends you faxes!
To answer your competition question: I am reading 'The Address' by Fiona Davis as I am working on a dual timeline historical fiction and Davis does it so well.
Winning a chewed pencil will nearly top winning a head of cabbage in a raffle in Ireland in the 90s. I had a choice between prizes; the cabbage or 10 litres of tractor oil. I don't own a tractor so I chose the cabbage.
Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles. But I have Baldacci's book waiting in the wings since I saw your first video interview! A Gentleman in Moscow is my go-to and "old" Grisham because the characters become "my people." I'm really interested in your biography! And I enjoy your writing style. I am compiling life stories of my own at the request of my son and do enjoy writing as though I'm sitting down with someone.
I’m so excited for the new Alex Cross! I’ve mentioned him and the new book out next month several times in Only Murders In The Inbox. He’s one of the best detectives ever created in crime fiction, thank you for creating him, and for penning some of the most memorable mysteries I’ve ever read.
Lore Segal’s An Absence of Cousins. James Marcus’s article about their relationship on 10/10 in The Atlantic was such a warm, loving gem, I immediately ordered several of her books.
Hello Mr. James Patterson! I am from Wesrfield, NY, which is from the other side(end?) of New York State. I am currently reading Gregg Olsen's "The Last Thing She Ever Did." I love storytelling! ❤️
I just finished listening to A Time For Mercy by John Grisham. I have started listening to your book The Family Lawyer. I really liked the chapters that you let us read of your autobiography. Will have to read the rest of it.
I subscribed to your Substack feed yesterday. Your conversation with David Baldacci was interesting.
Right now, I'm reading 'The Fellowship of the Ring.' Although I'm almost 71 years old, I'd not read Tolkien until last year, when I read 'The Hobbit.' I listened to the entire 'Lord of the Rings' series on audio years ago, but frankly got little out of it. Since Tolkien is loved by so many people I respect, I decided to give it a try.
I love free stuff.

I am rereading Kate Atkinson’s Jackson Brodie novels prior to reading her new Brodie novel.

Currently reading Blood On Snow by Jo Nesbo. Very entertaining thriller.
Re-reading, for the umpteenth time, Manhattan, when I was young by Mary Cantwell. Good to see you here!
